Express Checkout and Delivery Promise

When using the custom OneStock delivery promise checkout, it is important to note the following elements:

  • If a customer completes the purchase using Shopify’s native Express Checkout methods (such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other accelerated checkout options available directly in the Shopify native checkout), the delivery promise from OneStock may not be included in the resulting Shopify order, and therefore will not be available in OneStock OMS.

Several examples:

  • Your site uses the OneStock connector and the delivery promise in the checkout. Your customer decides to pay via GooglePay in the Shopify tunnel for an order to be delivered. The order is received by the OneStock connector but will not have a delivery promise.

  • Your site uses the OneStock connector and delivery promise at checkout. Your customer decides to pay via GooglePay in the Shopify tunnel for a BOPIS order. GooglePay does not offer to display the list from OneStock delivery promise, so the order cannot be done.

  • Your site uses the OneStock connector and delivery promise at checkout. Your customer decides to pay via PayPal in the Shopify tunnel for a BOPIS order. PayPal redirects the customer to a Shopify page with the list of stores. The order is received by the OneStock connector and will have a delivery promise.

Some of our customers use JUST, which allows them to retrieve our delivery promise on product pages or in the mini basket and make quick purchases. This seems to be a viable alternative.

Delivery Promise use for BOPIS orders and impact on the Shopify workflow

For clients using the OneStock connector + Delivery Promise to create BOPIS orders, it is important to note that the OneStock connector processes these orders using the shipping workflow, not Shopify’s native C&C workflow.

This behavior must be highlighted because Shopify workflows are commonly used to:

  • Send customer notifications based on order or fulfillment events

  • Trigger third-party applications that rely on Shopify’s standard C&C event model

Since BOPIS orders created with the Delivery Promise follow the shipping workflow, any automation or integration expecting Shopify’s native BOPIS flow may behave differently.

Delivery Promise use for BOPIS orders and impact on the UI

The use of the OneStock connector for Click & Collect orders does not provide:

  • A store map or store locator interface.

  • A dedicated store search experience.

Instead, it relies on Shopify’s native delivery address UI to display the eligible pickup locations or you can use the search field provided by the connector with a Google API key.

This user interface may not meet the expectations or design requirements of certain merchants.

Native Shopify Pickup in store options

Pickup in store orders is integrated into the OneStock connector. This integration requires configuration changes in Shopify:

OneStock utilise l’option de store transfer pour gérer l’orchestration. Chaque location qui représente un magasin réel doit être activé pickup in store dans Shopify. Chacune de ces locations doit ensuite avoir un store transfer sur la location qui représente

Native Shopify local delivery options

The integration of location offered by OneStock does not support Local Delivery options, as order orchestration is handled by OneStock. However, you can easily replicate the same rules directly in the OneStock Back Office using the orchestration rules.

Refund through Shopify

When a return is validated on OneStock, the OneStock connector will update Shopify but will not process the refund directly. Manual action is required to issue a refund on Shopify.

Please note that returns created on Shopify do not result in the creation or updating of a return in OneStock. The only direction currently supported by the connector is: OneStock to Shopify.

Sales channel management

The OneStock connector installed on a Shopify storefront is linked to a single OneStock sales channel.
